Please give an example of something that was done well in
ECE 463/663
In-Person
§
The amount of examples provided.
Live-Stream
§
Having lots of example problems from previous
years made it easy to understand how to do the problems
Online
§
The examples of the different systems like the
double pendulum helped to see some interesting use cases of modern control
§
A variety of methods of controls were taught
with a decent detail.
§
Bison Academy has very clear notes, and is very
helpful for learning the course material.
§
The youtube lectures
were very helpful in completing the homeworks
§
Content and availability.
§
Dr. Glower has done a excellent job at providing all of the information
that you need to perform well in the course.
Please give an example of something that need to be

In-Person
§
More detailed explanation of how block diagrams
work.

§
Complex topics were taught very quickly and it
was difficult to fully understand the subject material
§
Might just be me, but I had a hard time
understanding some of the big picture of the control systems. More examples of
implementation of these systems would have helped.
§
While the youtube
videos are helpful, they don't add much to the slides or lecture notes that are
posted.
§ Have temporary videos where you do Q&A on the take home MATLAB tests/projects.
Spring
2018 Student Comments:
▪ Best teacher in the ECE department. So helpful and
goes out of his way to help students learn.
▪ A great class. Wish I had more time to actually
apply the concepts myself.
▪ I really enjoyed this course and learning about control
systems. I really appreciated all the assistance the teacher gave in and
out of class. I think it would greatly benefit the course if we went over some
more step by step examples. That would help clear up any confusion on new
material.
▪ Dr. Glower is a great teacher. He was very
descriptive and informative notes that are easily accessible. He is also
always willing to help when you run into a problem.
▪ Class was very informative and had a challenging homework
set but doable. Helped with learning.
▪ Great professor, very cool class.
▪ Would be nice to practice building the models in Simulink
and implementing them on motors.
▪ Very good class. Very knowledgeable of the material
and willing to help outside of class.
▪ There were errors or incomplete problems in the notes
that made it tough to follow.
